Research and design of digital video player based on AML8618

Abstract

In this paper, a novel design of digital video player is proposed based on AML8616. With the usage of advanced multimedia processor AML8616, digital video player can play multimedia files in many formats, with many output interfaces, and transmit multimedia files through Ethernet interface. This paper presents the design of hardware according to the characteristics of AML8618 and workflow of the system. Based on the hardware characteristics, the software is designed based on the embedded Linux operating system. The novelties of our proposed work are its powerfulness and simplicity of circuit. This design scheme would be a good reference for the design of digital video player, and it would promote the development of future digital video players.
