Abstract

Recently, with the gradual development of new energy power generation, the application of distributed power generation technology has become increasingly widespread. As an effective connection method of distributed power, DC microgrid has received more and more attention. Therefore, new requirements have been put forward for the reliability of DC microgrid. DC circuit breakers is indispensable in protecting DC systems, especially DC solid-state circuit breakers have the advantages of simple structure as well as high reliability, so they have been continuously developed. This paper focuses on the research of DC Z-source solid-state circuit breakers(Z-SSCB), introduces three typical Z-SSCB and two improved Z-SSCB, uses Saber software for system simulation analysis, and makes a solid-state circuit breaker prototype with 28V power supply voltage for experimental verification. The experiment verifies that Z-SSCB has rapidity and reliability when isolating faults.
