Abstract
The development on the planetary gear trains (PGTS) dynamics in the past twenty years was reviewed, especially in the area of vibration and dynamic load. The review begins with some research achievements on analytical model and natural vibration solution, then surveys the recent advances in the dynamic response analysis focused on simulating method, nonlinear vibration and load-sharing. The progress on the vibration suppression and experiment was summarized. Some important conclusions which are useful to the dynamic design of PGTS were introduced. The critical issues in the further research on dynamics of PGTS were also discussed.
