Abstract

Target detection for hyperspectral imagery has important academic value and prospective applications both in civil and military areas. And it has been a hot spot in the areas of target recognition and remote sensing information processing. Based on the characteristics and development of hyperspectral imaging, this paper surveys the potential typical applications of target detection for hyperspectral imagery, along with the relevant experiments and systems at home and abroad. Then, the development of current theory and algorithm are summarized. Challenges of target detection for hyperspectral imagery and the direction of future progress are also discussed.
