Abstract

Range ambiguity is one of the major artifacts in spaceborne SAR images. In this paper, a range ambiguity blind separation method in single-look-complex (SLC) images without prior information is proposed. Based on the characteristic difference between range ambiguity and signal in the azimuth spectrum, a detector is designed to effectively pick up the range ambiguity. Compared with the traditional post-processing method, the proposed method is suitable for the fast processing of SLC data with large dimension and does not need to estimate the range ambiguity region to reduce the calculation. It also does not need to accurately model the range ambiguity. The experimental results on real measured L-band spaceborne SAR SLC image show that the proposed method achieve superior mitigation performance.
