Reliability evaluation method of torpedo based on FTA

Abstract

For dealing with the characteristics of Torpedo system, and in order to avoid the shortcoming of traditional pyramid's reliability evaluation method (PREM), a method of system reliability evaluation was established based on fault tree analysis (FTA). Compared to the conventional reliability evaluation methods, this method not only can be used to more complicated systems, such as those with duplicate-cell and no-parallel or no-series system, but also can intuitively describe the system function structure and failure state. The main contribution is to combine Bayes reliability evaluation with FTA for dealing with the torpedo system. A special reliability evaluation case of torpedo dynamic system was proposed. The result shows that the method is feasible, and demonstrates that it is better than traditional PREM for complex system.
