Reliability analysis for preventing dead-point seizure of mechanism

Abstract

There are some papers to discuss the problem of dead-point seizure of mechanism, but up to now there is no paper to discuss this problem from the point of view of reliability analysis. The method of reliability analysis for preventing dead-point seizure of mechanism is presented. In explanation of this method the four-bar linkage mechanism is taken as a typical mechanism. The dimension errors of components in mechanism caused by manufacture are taken into account in the course of analysis and distribution property of the kinetic dead-point of mechanism is analyzed. Based on the theoretic analysis, the kinetic output quantity of mechanism can be considered as the normal distribution random, and the reliability analysis method of dead-point seizure of mechanism is presented. An illustrative example is provided to show the applicability of this method by the analytical solution and simulation solution.
