Abstract

The existing standard and development about description and measurement of surface integrity for machined parts were summarized. According to the requirements of surface integrity for the parts with precision machining, a quantitative model of description for surface integrity was proposed and the parameters of characteristics within the description model were definitely detailed. Considering the specific parts and corresponding machining processes, a conceptual model of surface integrity for machined parts was established by combining the natures of surface integrity. This research offers theoretical basis and feasible operational framework for the control of surface integrity and improvement of the fatigue life for machined parts.
