Abstract

Aim. The introduction of the full paper reviews a number of papers in the open literature and then proposes IPT method. Sections 1 through 4 explain IPT method and its application. Their core consists of: (1) section 2 proposes Theorem 1 to determine the basic criteria for transforming basic probability assignment (BPA) into a probability function; (2) section 3 proposes the IPT method by utilizing the interval information on the belief function and the plausibility function of propositions in the D-S evidence theory and then compares our method with the pignistic probability transform and the plausibility function transform ones; (3) to verify the effectiveness of our method, section 4 uses the IPT method to establish the risk decision-making model and applies it to a missile defense system; (4) the comparison results and their analysis show preliminarily that our IPT method can effectively achieve the decision making based on BPA.
