Abstract

Recently, platinum(II) complexes have become another kind of attractive electrophosphorescent organic material after iridium complexes. Platinum(II) complex could achieve 100% internal quantum efficiency in theory utilizing both singlet and triplet excitons throught the strong spin-orbit coupling effect caused by heavy metals. In this review, we reported the advanced research of organic heavy metal platinum(II) complexes, current issues and tendency in the application of electrophosphorescent materials.
