Abstract

The pressure pulsations inner the hydraulic power pipelines were treated as a stationary random process approximately. Based on frequency-responses results, the mean square deviation of terminal pressure pulsations was calculated under the white noise excitation of pumping source. The first-passage failure criterion and fatigue damage accumulation failure criterion were adopted to analyze the dynamic pressure reliability respectively, and the influence of pulsation amplitude of pumping source on the reliability of pipelines was studied. The results indicate that the traditional estimation method for the pressure pulsation below 10% of rated pressure does not meet the security specification of hydraulic power unit. The evaluation method for random pressure pulsation based on reliability was proposed, which provides a new approach for dynamics assessment and design of hydraulic pipelines.
