Preparation of nano ZnO via surfactant PEG400 assisted sonochemical synthesis

Abstract

Nanosheet-ZnO were synthesized via sonochemical synthesis by using PEG400 as the surfactant, the effect of PEG400 on crystal structure and optical properties of ZnO nanopowders were investigated, and the function mechanism of PEG400 was also discussed. The results shows that the flower-like ZnO with nanorods were obtained without PEG400, and the products transformed into the ZnO with nanosheets gradually as the additive quantity of PEG400 increasing. The prepared products has good UV emission characteristics.
