Abstract
Pyrolytic carbon prepared by chemical vapor deposition was intercalated by bromine in the liquid phase at 20 °C for 48 h with a weight ratio of bromine to carbon of 6. XRD, SEM and XPS were used to characterize the product. Results show that a new XRD diffraction peak appears after intercalation. XPS further shows that the bromine and carbon are chemically bonded.
