Abstract

Nanocrystalline titania is a well-known semiconductor with high photocatalytic activity. Novel TiO2 nano particles with magnetic CoFe2O4 cores which can be easily recycled from a slurry system were reported in this paper. The particles were characterized by XRD and TEM. It was found that the photocatalyst TiO2/CoFe2O4 processed in water bath at 90°C for 2 hours and sintered at 60°C showed the highest efficiency during the degradation of TNT. It can be concluded that the activity of the photocatalyst is strongly influenced by the reaction time and sintering temperature.
