Abstract
To meet the requirements of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) for full-scale integration, quick implementation and deployment, by analyzing PLM domain concepts, PLM-oriented Domain-Specific Modeling (PLM DSM) method was presented. PLM DSM consisted of domain schema, domain template, application model, application architecture and application data. Domain schema was used to depict basic elements of domain concepts. Domain template was employed to formally describe and precisely define specified contents and their formats in domain schema. Domain schema and domain template were used to construct the system model of PLM, support the running of PLM system, and instantiate run-time data of PLM system model respectively. And the PLM DSM could implement unified modeling, model-driven development and the quick deployment based on industry template through abstraction and multiple instantiation of PLM domain concepts. Finally, an instance was provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the PLM DSM method.
