Abstract
Three-body abrasion experiments with materials of different hardness were carried out by using round particles as abrasives to investigate plastic deformation wear. It could be concluded that plastic deformation wear prevails in this test, and the sliding particles play a more important role in the plastic deformation wear than the rolling particles. The type of the second body in the three-body abrasion system has an effect on wear. With the hardness increase of the second body, the weight loss shows a peak value.
