Abstract

The basic principle of laser attenuation method for measuring particle parameters was introduced. The experimental system of laser attenuation was established and optical insertion issue used to measure particle size in the combustion environment was resolved. High-aluminum content fuel-rich propellant was used as test sample to measure the particle diameter of combustion products. Average particle size of the condensed phase of combustion products was obtained by the electron microscope analysis. The comparison results between the average particle size and the data from laser attenuation method validate the correction and feasibility of this kind of laser attenuation particle size measurement method.
