Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate oral membrane irritating response to two new β-type Titanium alloys by Oral mucous membrane irritation test. The samples of TLE, TLM, positive contrast group and negative contrast group were fixed on the oral membrane of hamster's pouch (10/group). After two weeks' local and systemic observation, the local oral membrane specimens were viewed under microscope. The results show that there was no local or systemic abnormal response to the two new β-type titanium alloys and that the histopathological findings were also normal. The two new β-type titanium alloys have no irritating response to oral mucous membrane.
