Abstract

By applying the moving least square surface fitting technique and genetic algorithm optimization technology, a complete structural optimization design technique for crashworthiness was proposed and the corresponding program codes were developed to realize the typical aircraft structure crashworthiness optimization design. Thin-walled cylindrical aluminum tubes with triggering holes were designed and proven to have high efficiency in energy absorption. The results show that this thin-walled cylindrical structure has a high energy absorption capacity and it is easy in application.
