Abstract

The stability of composite laminates which have no hole, an open-hole and open-hole strengthening under compression is analyzed with FE software of MSC. Nastran. The factors about the diameter and position of open-hole are discussed, the parameters of different open-holes are evaluated in the open-hole strengthening. The results show that the stability of composite laminate is reduced in case of an open-hole, and improved while strengthened. The diameter and position of the strengthened open-hole exert obvious influence on the stability. The stability of the strengthened composite laminate gets better than the original one.
