Abstract

In order to achieve the desired variable-stability, three methods: eigenvalue sensitivity, zero-pole cancellation, and introduction of coupling signals were used. These methods were combined to facilitate the selection of quasi-assignment parameters of variable-stability aircraft for response feedback mode. Only for the eigenvalue sensitivity method is there the necessity for us to derive eqs. which are needed for adjusting feedback gains of variable-stability aircraft so as to position its dominant poles to approach very nearly those of model aircraft. Zero-cancellation and the method of introduction of coupling signals were used to make main response characteristics approach those of model aircraft. For the specific model aircraft, this method can succeed in obtaining dynamic responses of variable-stability aircraft that are fairly close to those of the specific model aircraft.
