Abstract

The relevant information for computing the interval failure probability of probabilistic and non-probabilistic hybrid structural system is reviewed. The significant failure modes of such a hybrid structural system are enumerated and an efficient procedure for computing the interval failure probability of hybrid structural system is given. Because there is no need for computing the joint failure probability, not only the computational cost can be low, but also the corresponding computational errors can be eliminated. Results of a numerical example show that the computing procedure is feasible and efficient.
