On laboratory production of foam zinc with composition method

Abstract

The technological process for preparation of foam zinc, which is used for zinc electrode of alkaline battery, with composition method was described in brief. The effect of mould preheating temperature and molten metal pouring temperature on parameter of pore structure was studied experimentally. The morphology of pore structure and compressive strength of the foam zinc were analyzed. The prepared foam zinc has ideal three dimensional texture, the pores exhibit honeycomb form and its porosity is higher than 80%.
