Abstract
Detailed experiments were carried out to investigate the cellular/dendrite spacing selection of Cu-Mn alloy under ultra-high temperature gradient and rapid unidirectional solidification condition. The Cu-27.3wt%Mn alloy used was prepared by vacuum induction melting in an alumina crucible. The experimental results were compared with those of the KGT model.
