Abstract

The existing Internet application models have still some deficiencies in providing active operation and security. To reduce the effects of these deficiencies, a new distributed information active service system was presented, which is of two features, provision for active operation and three-tier security mechanism. Based on characteristics of CORBA and Java, a object navigation model (ONM) was proposed to build the distributed information active service, which utilizes the object reference to implement navigation between objects and support call for heterogeneous database. The architecture, active service, security protection and interface design were discussed.
