Abstract

In this paper, a numerical method is presented for predicting the steady, unsteady aerodynamic loads on bodies with separated vortex at high incidence. Point sources are distributed on the axis of the body, and vortex lattice elements are distributed on the body surface. Some important problems in the numerical calculation such as: uniqueness problem, effect of separation location, and the position of the free vortex sheet, etc. will be discussed. It is shown that the numerical results calculated by the present method compare well, qualitatively and quantitatively, with the experimental data.
