Abstract

Computer simulation of the solidification process is used widely in the design of the mould and the die configuration. In this work, a simple and efficient methodology is proposed for the numerical simulation of displacement field for investment casting. The heat-transfer behavior and the time-dependent heat transfer coefficient between a casting and mould are investigated by inverse heat-conduction analysis, so the simulation accuracy of temperature field is improved extremely in investment casting of turbine blades. Displacement field of turbine blades is established. The calculation results are in good agreement with the experimental ones. Therefore, the displacement field proves better effect on mould design of turbine blades.
