Numerical simulation of boosting stage pressure oscillation in ramjet

Abstract

Aiming at discovering the mechanism of pressure oscillation in serial layout ramjet inlet and chamber, large eddy simulation was carried out and pressure oscillation frequency and amplitude were obtained. Comparson were made between the experimental and numerical results. It was shown that in boosting stage, the pressure oscillation in the inlet and chamber of serial layout ramjet is the typical bulk mode instability. The flight velocity and altitude have little effect on the oscillation frequency.
