Abstract

Sheet metal has been widely applied in the manufacturing industry, such as automobile and aircraft and so on. However, sheet metal is thin walled structure in general, and deformation of this structure occurred easily. This deformation causes product out of tolerance, and influence assembly efficiency and assembly quality. So the joining process of sheet metal was summarized as LCJR cycling. The assembly error transfer model was established, including fixtures and jigs. The key features of work piece were defined, that presented product shape and position information. Character transferring represented assembly error. The vector of final character was get through homogeneous transformation. Finally, implementation on wing panel assembly was introduced, and the results demonstrated the functionality of the method.
