Abstract

A new ESPRIT-based estimation algorithm is proposed, by means of which the directions-of-arrival (DOA) and ranges of multiple near-field sources is jointly estimated. Firstly, the proposed method constructs one high-dimensional matrix by virtue of the fourth-order cumulants of some properly chosen sensor outputs; secondly, performing the eigenvalue decomposition of this matrix, two new matrixes are formed, and from whose eigenvalues the source parameters are simultaneously obtained. The proposed algorithm requires neither pairing parameters nor search computation and can efficiently make use of the array aperture, thus having high estimation accuracy. Finally, simulation results verify the performance of the proposed method.
