Abstract

Network immunization is one of the most effective methods to restrain virus propagation in complex networks. The immunization means that some nodes in a network are protected and hence will not be infected by any virus because the epidemic paths are cut off. In order to estimate the vulnerability of interdependent network, this paper proposes a hybrid algorithm to construct an interdependent network and analyzes the efficiency of different immunization strategies in such network. The results show that although current immunization strategies can effectively restrain virus propagation in homogeneous networks, the efficiency of these strategies should be improved in interdependent networks.
