Multidisciplinary design optimization and simulation validation for shape design of torpedo

Abstract

Concurrent Subspace Design based on Response Surface (RS-CSD) is an effective method for complex systems design. The shape design of torpedo was divided into two disciplines: Drag reduction design and noise reduction design, and how to use RS-CSD to optimization shape design of torpedo was explained in details. In the end optimization design and simulation testing using FLUENT software of a certain torpedo were given. Optimization results and simulation results also indicate that the drag and noise of optimal shape are improved.
