Abstract

This paper proposes a control method based on the multi-model switching method for the control problem of the refueling boom. Due to the complexity and strong nonlinearity of the refueling boom system, the controller which is only designed near a certain position cannot satisfy the precise control of the refueling boom in the whole envelope. Therefore, multi-model switching control is proposed to approximate the dynamic performance of the system. Firstly, the refueling boom is modeled. Next, several certain position models are given in the control envelope, and the corresponding controller is designed for these models respectively. The control of the refueling boom in the whole envelope is realized by the switching control. Computer simulations verify the high accuracy and stability of the multi-model switching control method.
