Abstract

Understanding and describing human mobility is of great significance to various fields such as urban management, transportation planning and epidemic prevention and control. Research on the regularity of human mobility and modeling based on human behavior dynamics attempt to explore the underlying mechanisms of the occurrence of movement, but most of the work focuses on the spatial laws. In this work we address a new temporal characteristic of mobility that cannot be predicted by classical agent-based models. By introducing a dynamic attractiveness factor, we build a temporally dynamic model (t-EPR), and the experimental results on a large-scale geolocation-based social platform check-in dataset indicate that the proposed model better describes human mobility in both time and space.
