Modal analysis of a liftbody hypersonic aircraft

Abstract

We study the stability of a liftbody hypersonic aircraft in this paper. In Section 1 of the full paper, we established the model of the hypersonic aircraft and determined the transfer matrix eigenvalues distribution of the state equation. In Section 2, the longitudinal and lateral modal stability of the hypersonic aircraft was given in Tables 1 and 2. The longitudinal and lateral steady state stability was compared in Tables 3 and 4. The results show that (1) in the longitudinal channel, modal stability of the liftbody hypersonic aircraft is equivalent to its static stability when the Angle of Attack(AOA) ranges from-3° to 6°; (2) in the lateral channel, the spiral modal is unstable when the AOA ranges from-3° to 0°.
