Abstract

A physical model of femur, with rounded and individual feature, was constructed by processing computer tomography (CT) images from a volunteer's femur. Some parameters were derived from CT images for the geometrical and material properties of the moulded femur, and the vibration modal analysis of femur was carried out through the finite element method. The former six-step modes were extracted out. This study is useful for developing artificial joint design available for Chinese bony features.
