Abstract

According to the relation among temperature, viscosity and shear rate which modified asphalt mixture obtained the optimal compaction effect, a fitting shear rate of 60 s-1 was got by experimental research. Under the recommended shear rate, the viscosity curves of modified asphalt at different temperatures were obtained by testing viscosities of modified asphalt. Based on the test results, a viscosity temperature curve could be obtained. Mixing and compaction temperatures corresponding to viscosities of (0.17 ± 0.02) Pa·s and (0.28 ± 0.03) Pa·s were got. Experiment results indicate that the mixing and compaction temperatures of modified asphalt mixture determined by the method are reasonable.
