Abstract

A dual-band circularly (at 0.78GHz) and linearly (at 2.45GHz) polarized antenna is proposed for radio frequency identification (RFID) and WIFI indoor positionings. The relevant standard for 779-787 MHz RFID is newly used in China, whereas the standard for 2.45 GHz RFID is ISO/IEC 18000-4. The antenna consists of microstrip-fed solt antenna (MFSA) and reflective polarization converter. This converter can transform a linearly polarized (LP) incident electromagnetic (EM) wave into its orthogonal LP reflection wave. The MFSA can achieve dual-band linearly polarized radiation. After loading the reflector, 3dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidths of 0.78-0.82 GHz is achieved.
