Lubrication Performance Analysis of Fuel Gear Pump Sliding Bearing under High Speed and Wide Temperature Range

Abstract

Gear pump is known as the heart of the aero engine, it works in a wide temperature domain, high speed, heavy load and other extreme harsh conditions, resulting in complex lubrication state of its sliding bearing, is the main failure components of the gear pump, the paper for the gear pump used static and dynamic sliding bearing typical structure, Based on CFD numerical simulation method, the lubrication state of sliding bearings was analyzed in the whole temperature range of-40~120 °C and under the main load spectrum. From the simulation analysis, it can be seen that the dynamic pressure support plays a leading role in the work of the fuel gear pump. The high coupling of factors such as medium temperature, friction temperature rise and end discharge flow leads to the great influence of temperature and rotational speed on the bearing capacity of the sliding bearing. The fluid-solid thermal coupling will be the focus of the next research in this paper.
