Abstract

The investigations on low cycle fatigue properties and fracture feature of T1-2Al-2. 5Zr alloy tube specimens were performed under different experimental conditions at 350°C. The results are shown that it appears as cyclic hardening under tension-compression fatigue. The fatigue life determined with triangle wave is higher than sine wave at low stress amplitudes, whereas there are less differences in both of them at high stress amplitudes. There are many fatigue striation, secondary cracks and dimples in fatigue fractures, and also some grain boundary cracks, creep cavities and one kind of through-grain cleavage facet. The fatigue fracture of Ti-2Al-2. 5Zr alloy is commonly controlled with fatigue and creep.
