Abstract

According to the meshing characteristics of load sharing of double helical gears, the method of loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) of double helical gears was proposed. Firstly, tooth surface normal flexibility matrix caused by unit normal force of tooth surface point and the additional matrix caused by the deformation of shafts were obtained through the finite element calculation. The additional matrix was added to the tooth surface flexibility matrix and the normal flexibility matrix of gear system was generated then. Secondly, the loaded tooth contact analysis was completed. In the analysis process, the finite element, the programming method and the axial displacement of pinion were combined. Finally, an experiment that compared the result of tooth surface light contact and loaded transmission error of measure with calculation was provided, which verified the correct of method proposed.
