Abstract
Large scale and high purity synthesis of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) by arc discharge at controlled temperatures with multi-metal catalysts of Fe-Ni-Mg in He atmosphere was analyzed. It was observed that the temperature strongly affects the yield of SWNT and it increases as increasing temperature. It was shown that there exists a optimum temperature, around 600 °C, and over it, the yield decreases a little. The Raman spectrum showed that the diameter is uniformly distributed and is about 1.24 nm.
