Abstract
A study was conducted to demonstrate the Kronecker product method for the exact solution of aircraft vulnerability. The aircraft presented area was divided into three categories for easy demonstration of the proposed method. The first was a noncritical region in which there was no critical component where the probability of a kill given a hit on this region was 0.0, and the survival probability given a hit on this region was 1.0. The second category of the region was called the nonoverlapping critical region where the aircraft had several nonoverlapping critical regions. The third category of the region was called the overlapping critical region where a hit in this region had the potential to kill several components. The determination of the number of tree branches in the tree diagram method and the dimension of state transition matrix in the Markov chain method were based on the kill properties of components for the precise calculation methods for the aircraft multiple-hit vulnerability.
