JOINT ESTIMATION OF DOA AND MUTUAL COUPLING FOR WIDEBAND SIGNALS VIA BLOCK MULTIPLE MEASUREMENT VECTORS

Abstract

Based on the structure of block joint sparsity, a wideband DOA estimation method is proposed in the presence of unknown mutual coupling. First, the wideband array signal model is established with the Toeplitz property of mutual coupling matrix for the uniform linear array. Next the block sparse recovery model of each sub-band frequency is transformed into the block multiple measurement vectors (BMMV) model of the whole wideband signal by focusing operation. Then, a novel BMMV algorithm is proposed. Finally, the proposed algorithm is used to realize the joint estimation of the wideband DOA and the mutual coupling matrix. Simulation results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm.
