Abstract

Nowadays, the topology optimization method is increasingly adopted for the design of lightweight structures to achieve desired behaviors. Based on the finite element method and the homogenization method, the present work is to study effects of both the volume fraction and elastic modulus ratio of three-phase materials on the optimal designs of microstructure configurations and the global stiffness. Numerical examples demonstrate that the influences of such design parameters are different when they vary in different intervals.
