Abstract

The dynamical projectile technology of solid propellant gas generator under the water filling projectile-tube condition was investigated by means of simulation test. The results show gas dynamical projectile technology is practicable. Compared with dry launch, this kind of dynamical launch needs more propellant, but the thermal protection problem can be easily handled because of lower temperature in the projectile-tube. The effects of projectile depth, the distance behind missile, fluid-guard and propellant quantity on internal ballistics were summarized. The test results show that some measures can obviously improve exit tube velocity of missile, such as decrease of the distance behind missile, increase of projectile depth and installation of fluid-guard. The projectile scheme was optimized based on the tests.
