Abstract

On the basis of a VCCTEF (variable camber continuous trailing edge flap) system which is feasible in engineering, this paper constructs the corresponding mechanical model and mathematical model through reasonable simplification, and applies it to the optimization design system which consists of FFD (free form deformation) parameterization, a mesh moving method based on RBF (radial basis function) interpolation and so on. Then the effect of the VCCTEF on the aerodynamic performance of the supercritical airfoil is investigated in the single-point and multi-point optimization design. Results indicate that applying the VCCTEF can greatly improve the aerodynamic performance of the design and non-design points in the single-point and multi-point optimization design.
