Abstract

The unsteady effect of a flow field is inevitable for modern aerodynamics and it has a comprehensive influence on aerodynamic performance. Intensity-based pressure sensitive paint(PSP)dynamic measuring technique has been the research focus in the fields of experimental aerodynamics, high polymer chemistry and so on since the 1990s. Up to now, there are a number of fruitful achievements on the PSP technique. In the present work, both the development and application of the fast response PSP technique are introduced, including the fast response PSP, measurement of PSP response time, dynamic measurement method and its application. The successful experiments suggest that the fast response PSP technique has a great potential in the unsteady flow field measurement.
