Infrarde image denoising by fuzzy threshold based on Bandelets transform

Abstract

A kind of infrared image denoising approach by fuzzy threshold based on Bandelets transform was given. The approach has the good quality of both Bandelets transform and fuzzy threshold on denoising. As making Bandelets transform to an infrared image, the noisy image denoising can be done by applying a fuzzy threshold to the Bandelets coefficients. With Bandelets transform, a method of compression rate threshold selecting was given against denoising. Comparing with hard thresholding based on orthogonal wavelet, the simulation results show that the image denoising effect of this approach is better. Furthermore, the given approach can reduce the noise of infrared image and preserve the edges of image well.
