Abstract

By using mould semi-carbonization shaping technology and the ordinary pressing machine, the short carbon fiber reinforced pitch-carbon based C/C composites were prepared under atmospheric environment. The effects of homogenization methods on the homogeneous effect of short carbon fibers and the properties of C/C composite were investigated by means of stepless speed change mixer, universal material testing machine and SEM. The results show that the dispersant containing CPB and PVA has excellent effect not only on dispersing performance of PAN-based carbon fibers among six kinds of experimental dispersants, but also on homogeneous effect of carbon fibers, pitch powder and coke particles; the homogenization method plays an important role on the compressive strength of as-received C/C composites. By comparison of mechanical properties, manufacture cost, and working environments, comprehensive property of wet mixing method among the four kinds of mixing methods is optimal.
